Bye Bye Fishy...

Today was such a fulfilling day... went to cooking pract.. wow we have to kill a live fish and cut it up.
DAM its my first time killing A FISH.. HAHA but still theres a first time for everything... :P when i found out my fish was alive as most of the fish in the bucket is supposed to be dead due to the ice blanketing it. I held it and talked to it :S i was like oh.. hi fishy.. hope u like fish chowder... coz u gonna be one.. :P haha Sadistic right.. but oh well thats life.. haha! then i asked the chef on how to kill it wif it being pretty much lively. and taught me to grab it place it up right aim for the head and use the flat side of the knife and knock it out...
The de-finning process begin.. i practically used a scissors and my body weight to do it.. except that the fish was particularly slimy... oh yea forget to mentiont that the fish is called tilapia.. or smth liddat. after de-finning went on to scaling that has cause me and steph the most cleaning up to do.. i practically made a wall of scales in the sink.. LOL..
Then i went on to remove its organs.. wow i m pretty amazed how the gall bladder looking so green and translucent.. but it smells like gall bladder? HAHA. but trust me its not something you want to smell, unless u want waterfall coming out of your mouth :/

After cooking our chowder and almost getting our holandaise sauce.. but we did not as it curdled at the most crucial moment.. but overall it was all alright :D

now for the most irritating part of the day.. Chef paul was like you guys have to stay back and collect ur knifes.. i m like WTH.. if he gave us earlier it made the slicing and killing of the fish MUCH MUCH EASier.. DAM!..

After that went for FNC and had lunch / dinner wif classmates and pretty much ended the day.. oh yea i just cut my finger while playing around wif the knife.. dam thats sharp.. i din even felt pain till like 5 mins later haha.. Oh well that pretty much all.. gotta go now tml got db and sf.. long day! cya ~
